Twist Type Leveling Step by Step Application
Fixplus® Leveling System, with twist clips & twist caps, is particularly easy to use. It works slightly differently than our “traditional” system but gives the same result. This step by step plan explains how to proceed with floor tiles. The Twist system can be installed on the wall in the same way. Follow the steps for optimal results.
After gluing the floor and laying the first tile, the first clips are slid under the tile. Be careful that no tile adhesive gets between the clips and the tile. This can cause the clips to break off incorrectly after the tile adhesive has hardened.
Now the next tile can be placed in place. For optimal adhesion and for complete bonding, we recommend also applying a layer of glue to the back of the tiles.
Once the tile is in place, the cap is screwed onto the clip by hand. If the tile shifts slightly, this is not a problem. After fixing the caps, you can easily correct the tiling. You do this by hand or use a rubber mallet.
Now turn the cap all the way down to the tile. Give the cap a good turn and it will continue to rotate onto the tile without exerting any force.
For the last part, tighten the cap firmly so that the adjacent tiles are flush with each other.
When the tile adhesive has completely hardened, remove the clips and caps. To remove the clips and caps, always strike in the direction of the joints. This can be done with a rubber mallet or with some handy footwork. The clips break off at the bottom of the clips.
Additional advantage of the Twist Leveling system
Twist Type System is suitable for use in two ways. You can use the Twist Clips and Twist Caps as you would with our “original” leveling system. You then place Twist Clips and Twist Caps a few centimeters from the corners. Because the Twist Caps of the Twist system have openings, you always have an optimal view of the joints.
This makes the system extremely suitable for installation at the intersections of the joints. This is particularly useful for sizes smaller than 40×40 cm. It also results in enormous savings, because you simply need much less leveling material.
